Phoenix requires all volunteers to have
- Patience & strong communication skills,
- A desire to support people with learning difficulties,
- Understanding of the importance of empowerment.
If you already have an understanding of health & safety at work that would be wonderful, but we will provide any necessary training.
Our volunteers usually work on-site, but we would also love to hear from you if you have ‘back office’ experience and would be happy to be a home-based volunteer, coming in occasionally to ‘touch base’ with us. In particular we would love to hear from you if you have fundraising experience.
We do ask that our volunteers support us regularly, for the hours agreed. For volunteers who work the whole day with us on-site we provide a two course meal for a small charge and, in certain circumstances, travel expenses. All on-site volunteers are required to have an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (previously CRB).
