People with learning difficulties have proved to be extremely productive as it enables them to focus and concentrate their minds, due to the simplicity and repetitiveness of the work involved in making these products, it enables the workers to identify with the various tasks involved in production and to be able to produce quality products in large volumes.
A large range of decorative paving slabs, path edging, stepping stones, York stone paving, etc. are made and sold directly from Phoenix's yard at Milton in Cambridge to landscapers, builders and to the general public. The main usage is for patios, shed bases, paths, pool surrounds and general garden landscape.
The Trustees have decided that the new organisation will concentrate on education and training, using manufacturing as a tool for supporting the learning experience effectively. The company, limited by guarantee, was set up and charitable status obtained.
In addition garden ornamentation, and a range of wooden garden products are also made on site. The range of products will be increased when there is a known demand providing there are the resources available to achieve our aims.
